Beacon Village provides compassionate and supportive shelter for unhoused individuals ready to transform their lives and establish roots in their community.
Our Values
Healing-focused: We support all of our stakeholders in healing the wounds of “othering” and past injustices.
Commited to the Well-Being of All: We seek to consider the whole community in decision-making.
Compassion: We believe that all individuals deserve love, kindness, and patience in their life journey.
Honesty and Openness: We seek honesty and openness in our relationships, understanding that these are critical components of trusting and effective relationships.
Community-Minded: We believe community and connection are the building blocks of healing and effectiveness in our work.
Welcome Our New Board Members and Staff - Helping to Strengthen Our Team
Our new Board members are settling in and collaborating with our staff as we enter a new phase of growth. The fresh perspectives and shared values of our new Board are helping us strengthen our identity and direction.
This year, we also welcomed new staff members: Patrick McWhorter, Brian Crabtree, Americo Hernandez, and Andre Cordes. Our team-building efforts took a big step forward at our fall staff retreat, where we explored our different work styles and deepened connections. Together, we affirmed values that guide our work, including:
Joy in our work
Collaboration and relationship-building
Partnership
Honest, direct, and open communication
Respect
Intentional inclusivity
Creative problem-solving
Accountability
Community
Ethical decision-making
Warmth and compassion

A Special Work Party with Kainos Church
We were thrilled to have Kainos Church back in November for another quarterly work party. This year’s event was especially meaningful, as it was the first time our new Board and staff worked side by side with such an amazing group from Kainos Church. The day was focused on improving Beacon Village’s mission to provide trauma-informed environment for our residents. We painted the community space to make it brighter and more welcoming, cleared cutter to create a calming atmosphere, and beautified the village with new plants, flowers, and trees.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports Beacon Village, from our volunteers to our donors. Your contributions have a profound impact on the lives of the unhoused individuals we serve, helping them transform their lives and establish roots in the community. Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of this journey with us.
Please contact us if you would like to volunteer at Beacon Village or would like to set up your own work party.
